Perceptive Software strives to be good corporate citizens in the communities where our employees live and work. This support is evident in our contributions of financial, equipment and volunteer support to organizations working to help meet the challenges and needs of modern society.
Dodge for a Cause
Dodge for a Cause is Perceptive Software’s signature event, an annual 64-team charity dodgeball tournament hosted at the company’s NADA-approved dodgeball court. The tournament brings together participants from across the area and generates funds for the Kansas City chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). In seven years, the tournament has generated nearly $115,000 for important diabetes research and programs. Learn more about the event at www.DodgeforaCause.com.
In partnership with the University of Kansas School of Engineering, Perceptive Software established the Educating Excellence program in 2010. The program was developed to recognize outstanding Kansas and Kansas City area high school science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) teachers. Throughout the school year, Perceptive Software and the University of Kansas will recognize one teacher per month with a $1,500 cash award. Learn more about the program at www.EducatingExcellence.org.
American Red Cross
Perceptive Software partners with the American Red Cross multiple times each year to host company blood drives. Visit www.givelife.org to learn more about the American Red Cross and its blood drive program.
Habitat for Humanity
A group of Perceptive Software volunteers come together annually to take part in a Habitat for Humanity project. Through volunteer labor and tax-deductible donations, Habitat builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses with the help of the homeowner families. Perceptive Software is a partner of Heartland Habitat for Humanity, which serves Wyandotte, Johnson and Miami County.
Perceptive Software is proud to support our community food network, Harvesters, with events throughout the year. During our annual virtual food drive each November, employees engage in competition between departments to see who can collect the most donations for Kansas City's only food bank. In 2011, employees donated more than $25,000, providing more than 129,000 meals for those in need.
Kansas City Corporate Challenge
Kansas City’s annual Olympic-style competition is deeply ingrained in the Perceptive Software culture. The Perceptive team is a competitive bunch and thrives on the camaraderie offered during the annual event. Perceptive Software has been a supporter of Kansas City Corporate Challenge since 2004.
Rebuilding Together Shawnee
When the organization launched in 2007, Perceptive Software joined Rebuilding Together Shawnee as a Founding Sponsor. The organization is an affiliate of Rebuilding Together, the nation’s leading nonprofit working to preserve affordable homeownership and revitalize communities. Through bi-annual projects, Rebuilding Together Shawnee has already helped dozens of Shawnee homeowners in need.
Run for Mercy
The Run for Mercy is a 5k and10k walk/run hosted by Oceans of Mercy—a local nonprofit organization specifically focused on improving the lives of South Africa’s children who are directly affected by AIDS and poverty. Since 2005, Perceptive Software has been a sponsor of the event and several Perceptive employees have participated in the race each year.
Treads & Threads
Perceptive Software is a regular supporter of Treads & Threads, an annual benefit for the University of Kansas Hospital. In 10 years, Treads & Threads has raised nearly $5.5 million to expand, improve and support cancer patient care in the community.
