Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) serves more than 3,200 students in traditional programs on the university’s main campus in Marion, Ind. Another 12,000 adult learners attend classes at 16 regional campuses in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and online.
As IWU grew, managers recognized a need to move away from a paper filing system. Document retrieval was cumbersome and time-consuming in many departments, while information sharing across campuses was difficult and storage space was limited.
To meet these challenges, IWU selected Perceptive Content document management, imaging and workflow from Perceptive Software. A key reason for choosing ImageNow was because it seamlessly integrates with the university’s Datatel system.
After a successful pilot deployment in human resources, IWU expanded Perceptive Content on their own to 18 departments across campus, including student services, traditional admissions, procurement services, human resources, the registrar and financial aid.
With electronic processes in place, IWU has improved customer service to staff, faculty and students, gained space by eliminating filing cabinets and document storage, and experienced an extensive cost savings on paper and printing in student services.
